Who We Are

Located in the beautiful city of Charleston, All Around Assistants was born out of the desire to help busy families manage their day-to-day tasks efficiently.

Being a Charleston native, our chief personal assistant, Laura Kest, brings local insight and a personal touch to her work, ensuring the service you receive is not only professional but also uniquely tailored to your needs.

About Laura

As a Personal Assistant, Laura strives to work "behind the scenes" to provide reliable and efficient daily support to high-net-worth executives and their families. With over 15 years of experience as a Personal Assistant, Laura has developed a strong set of skills and competencies that enable her to support the smooth operation of the executive’s business and home life.

Laura started her professional career in Boston as Nanny and House Manager to celebrity chef, restaurateur, author and TV/new media host Ming Tsai, his wife Polly and their two young children. Laura was able to successfully optimize Ming and Polly’s personal and professional productivity to facilitate their busy lifestyle. As her role evolved and their children started school, she joined Ming’s restaurant organization, starting at the flagship restaurant Blue Ginger and later opening his new establishment Blue Dragon.

Laura relocated to Charleston with her daughter Violet in the summer of 2014 to be closer to family. Laura has held lead positions at several downtown restaurants, most notably, Wood & Gain and HUSK Charleston. Working in the hospitality industry has taught Laura the ability to quickly “think on her feet”.

Most recently, Laura handled a variety of administrative and personal duties for a Daniel Island based CEO and his family. Her primary duties included assisting the executive with the day-to day management of a multi-million dollar residential property along with supporting a busy household.

Laura’s greatest personal achievement is raising her fifteen year-old daughter. Outside of work, she enjoys dining out with friends, gardening, arts and crafts, shopping and playing with her dog Lucky.
